QUEEN B made her triumphant return since having baby Blue in January. Dominating the news world with her #BackToBusiness campaign, Beyoncé played no games on this lovely Friday night in Revel Resort’s Ovation Hall in Atlantic City. Not only were fans like you and I delighted to be in her presence, Kelly Rowland, Jay-Z and First Lady Michelle Obama were among audience members.
The show began exactly at 9:00 PM as scheduled, with R&B newcomer Luke opening the show. Around 9:40 PM, the stage was being reconfigured for Beyoncé to shut it down. Throughout the duration of the concert, Beyoncé performed more than 20 songs, beginning with “End of Time” followed by a string of up-tempo hits. Beyoncé also performed fan favorite “Schoolin’ Life” for the very first time and even a cover of Lauren Hill’s “Ex-Factor”. The French twins who danced alongside Beyoncé through the beginning of the ‘4’ era known as Les Twins, made a return.
A Beyoncé show would not be a Beyoncé show without an array of phenomenal costume changes, from shimmery sequins, Vegas show girl to bumble bee, she was sure to give nothing but fierceness. About the actual stage (and the floor) – which was made up of all LED screens – featured several different colors, shapes, images, etc.
Near the end of the show, Beyoncé included a tribute to the late Whitney Houston, singing the classic “I Will Always Love You”. The set ended with “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”.
Last but not least, the audience also got to see a glimpse of Blue in a video clip!
