Irreplaceable was released 13 September 2006. as the third single from Beyoncé's second album, B'Day. The single peaked at the top of the Billboard 100 and remained at number 1 for ten weeks. In addition, the single surpassed 200 million impressions on radio on December 11, 2006. Irreplaceable has been certified triple-platinum by the RIAA.
Music Video[]
The music video for "Irreplaceable" was by Anthony Mandler, filmed 20-22 August 2006. and features the debut performance of Knowles' touring band Suga Mama. The role of the singer's ex-boyfriend was played by model Bobby Roache, who also played a police officer in the video for "Ring the Alarm" and appeared on stage as a fighter during Jay-Z and Beyoncé's performance at Fashion Rocks 2006. The video was released in 2007 on the B'Day Anthology Video Album. The fragment of the music video in which Knowles dances in front of a glass door was inspired by one of the James Bond films . In January 2008, MTV Tr3s premiered the music video for "Irreemplazable", the Spanish-language version of "Irreplaceable".
The music video tells a story depicting the lyrics of the song. Roache said, "She told me to pack all my stuff, I got kicked out - that's how the video starts." Midway through the video, Beyoncé follows her ex-boyfriend outside her house and leans against the hood of her Jaguar XK, watching him carry out his bags. After a while, it turns out that she was waiting outside only to pick up what she bought him. After that, the man leaves her house in a taxi. Between these shots, there are images of Knowles looking at herself in a mirror; dressed in a high-waisted skirt, wearing lipstick and rollers in her hair. At the end of the video, the singer sings with her all-female band Suga Mama. The video ends with Beyoncé greeting her new boyfriend at the door.
