On June 1, 2012, it was revealed on Beyonce.com that Beyoncé will star in the movie alongside Colin Farrel, Josh Hutcherson, and Amanda Seyfried.
According to Beyoncé's official website:
"Queen B has been cast as the voice of Queen Tara in the upcoming 3-D CG Action-adventure comedy "EPIC", from 20th Century Fox Animation & Blue Sky Studios. The film about an ongoing battle between the forces of good and evil set deep in the forest, will be released in 2013." [2]
